It feels like it’s been awhile since I last posted a green smoothie recipe. Since I’m sure you are all missing them, I have this blueberry spinach smoothie recipe to share with you. You’re welcome.
This blueberry spinach smoothie came about because I once again had an abundance of blueberries at home. Same reason I made the blueberry pineapple smoothie and the blueberry sour cream coffee cake. This particular blueberry overload was because the husband picked up a huge container of them at Costco. Can’t beat organic blueberries at Costco prices. So much cheaper than buying them anywhere else.
As I was deciding ingredients to throw into the blender, my eyes came upon the huge container of organic green grapes also sitting in the fridge. I figured I might as well put them in with the spinach before the kids eat them all. Grapes typically don’t last long in this house.
I tried to be super stealthy when making this smoothie because I wanted to have some before the kids attacked and drank it all. I was only half successful because only the little one heard. Lucky for her (and me) the recipe made enough for two.
I wanted to add flax seeds to this blueberry spinach smoothie like I did in the peach spinach smoothie but I didn’t have any on hand. Instead, I went with hemp seeds which are high in digestible protein. When making your own, add whichever one you would like if you have them.
