Creamy fruit smoothie {with maca powder}

In a lot of my smoothie recipes, I use coconut water for the liquid. But sometimes, I like to make a creamy fruit smoothie with homemade almond milk as I did in the blueberry pineapple smoothie.

It creates a different kind of smoothie that’s rich and delicious. And it definitely doesn’t last long in the glass.

So, for this latest smoothie recipe, I used the fresh fruit I had in the house which included one mango, one banana and some bright red strawberries.

I also added a little bit of the superfood, maca powder. I’ve used it before in the vanilla fig smoothie. It has a sweet/smoky toffee/butterscotch flavor and I like mixing it in creamy fruit smoothies. Plus, it’s good for increasing your energy levels and supporting the immune system. Something I think we could all use.

Creamy fruit smoothie {with maca powder}

Serves 1 large or 2 small smoothies

Ingredients:

  • 1 mango
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon maca powder
  • Almond milk
  • Ice

Directions:

  1. Put ingredients in a blender.
  2. Blend to desired consistency, adding more almond milk as needed.
  3. Pour and enjoy!

    I’ve just started trying almond milk. I’ve heard it’s a better choice than soy because of the hormones that can be in soy. Wish my boy would drink it (the almond milk)!

  5. This is a really nice way to get a lift after a walk or exercise, my partner whipped up a couple after our sunday ride and we both enjoyed them plus this smoothie is healthy, what more can you ask :)
