Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes last week! For this week’s Essence of Now post I’m going to show some of the crafting type activities we have been doing lately.
The little one likes to do her “homeschooling” which consists of different preschool aged books. Sometimes she lets me help her and other times she does her own thing. Either way this is her favorite activity. For now.
The big kid has really been perfecting her knitting skills and is now moving on to learning how to hand sew. We also attempted some crayon/wax paper art project that went horribly wrong but she had fun so I’ll score that as a win.
Here is a scarf that she made for a friend. Pretty cool, right?
As for me, I’m stil behind the sewing machine working on more quilts. These blocks are for a scrap log cabin quilt that I’m putting together using a bunch of material left over from some other projects. The picture in the book shows what it will look like when it’s done except the colors will be different.
And this has nothing to do with crafting but I’m really excited about the TEDx University of Nevada event on Friday 1/25. I’ll be running the social media and there are some great speakers lined up. Check out the hash #tedxunr if you want to follow along.
Hope you all have a good week!

So crafty! I still have ambitions to learn how to sew.

You can. I’m sure of it.
That scarf is so cute! Is it knitted? How is she liking learning to knit?

It is knitted. She first learned from garden camp and after that she watched some YouTube videos and my mom has helped her.

So, she gave that scarf to a friend and the friend’s little sister took it apart. Now she gets to do it all over again.

I didn’t know you were a knitter. That’s somewhat surprising to me.
