This last week has been full of surprises.
I surprised the kids with a trip to Grandma’s house for the weekend.
They checked out reptiles and got tattoos. Grandma’s crazy like that.
The eldest came home to find her room had been transformed from pink and red to lavender and purple.
She also found that I finished her special queen size breast cancer awareness quilt.
We also took an impromptu trip to a local indoor playhouse so the girls could get their wiggles out. The little one would only go down the slides upside down. The kids were blurry in all of the pictures I took at this place, must be a sign they had a good time.
Both kids were also surprised that I bought them new kicks.
As a reward for all of these surprises, the little one put my phone in the dogs’ water bowl. I can now personally attest that the rice trick does work.
Thankfully. I don’t think I could live without my phone.

You are an awesome storyteller.
What is the rice trick? I’ve never gotten a device wet. I tend to drop them on concrete instead. But I am sure the day is coming.

If a device is dropped in water, put it fully submerged in a bowl of rice to let it dry out. Doesn’t help for devices dropped on concrete though. Would be nice if it did.

P.S. Did you go down any of the bounce house slides? Looks like so much fun

I didn’t go on any of the bounce house slides. It was our first time there and I didn’t know I could participate so I wasn’t dressed appropriately. Maybe next time.

I had to go to 3 or 4 different stores before I found shoes for my toddler that I liked. It’s hard to not find character shoes for little kids.
