I think we can all agree that it’s important for children of all ages to be safe when riding in cars.
When I was pregnant with Hayley I spent a long time at Babies R Us trying to decide on the perfect car seat to bring her home in. I was overwhelmed with the choices and I honestly had no idea what I was looking for.
I finally settled on the Graco SnugRide Infant Car Seat with the matching stroller.
She stayed in this car seat until her first birthday when she was promoted to a front facing car seat that would last until she was eligible for a booster seat.
I used the same infant seat with Layla 5 years later and just like her big sister she switched to a front facing car seat at age 1.
At the time, it was normally for toddlers to switch from rear facing to front facing on their first birthday.
But last week I learned that The American Academy of Pediatrics is now recommending that toddlers stay rear facing up to the age of 2.
My kids would have thrown a fit if I tried to keep them rear facing in the infant seat I had that long because their leg room was cramped.
Luckily, Graco was smart and created the Graco SnugRide Click Connect 40 which “is the only infant car seat that provides rear-facing protection for babies from birth to 2 years old, as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. The infant car seat grows with babies from four pounds up to 40 pounds, so parents can keep their children rear facing longer, while making sure they stay comfortable as they grow.”
Sounds pretty cool, right?
Well…I can say I’ve seen this car seat demonstrated in person and it looks pretty awesome. You buckle the base into the car like normal and then you can adjust the base into 8 different recline positions as the child grows from birth size to toddler size over the two years.
My kiddos would have fit perfectly in it for their first 2 years of life and would have been a lot safer riding around in the car with me. And it has a foot rest so their dirty kid shoes don’t get all over the car.
Plus, this car seat is portable so you can carry the kids in it when needed (like when they fall asleep in the car and you don’t want to wake them up by taking them out of the car seat and you don’t want to sit in the driveway for two hours while they nap).
For all of my friends that are pregnant, going to be pregnant in the near future, or have kids under the age of 2 I recommend you check out this car seat. This little one recommends it.
The Graco SnugRide® Click Connect™ 40 – the first and only newborn to two-year infant car seat that actually grows with your baby from four pounds all the way up to 40 pounds. The car seat is designed for a parent on the go. The infant car seat can be easily removed from the base and used as a carrier when the infant is small, providing portability and convenience so you can easily move your infant in and out of the car without disturbing them.
The American Academy of Pediatrics recently made the recommendation to keep all children in rear-facing car seats until the age of 2. Graco set out to make this product so parents can keep infants rear facing longer while still keeping them comfortable.
