When I went to Blissdom back in February, I met a few people from a new company called Time Dog. After the conference, they sent me an email and wanted to Skype. So of course, I did what I always do when a company contacts me….I went to their site and started digging around.
The concept of Time Dog intrigued me as they claim to do everything on the to-do list except watch the kids and wash the laundry (but damn, if they did these things I would be in serious love).
To make a long story short, I skyped with Matt and Nick from Time Dog and signed up for their services.
The requests I’ve sent to them?
The very first (and extremely important) was to know who the fan favorite was for Top Chef Texas.
I had them find me the best price on Monin Lavender Syrup for this Lavender Sunrise Cocktail that I recreated after drinking many at Blissdom.
They found all sorts of homeschooling resources for me as well as afterschool type programs for Hayley to try out.
I’ve also had them research bathtubs as we are remodeling one of our bathrooms, find me camping spots in NorCal for our trailer by the ocean, chicken sandwich recipes, and bartending school (can you believe there are no bartending schools in Reno, WTF?)
A few times I thought that they hadn’t completed my request but it turned out that their reply was in my spam folder (so if you use them, make sure you check your spam).
After about 4 months I can say I’m pleased with Time Dog and their virtual assistance. They listen to me way better than my dumb dogs.
You can email, live chat, or call them with your service requests. Personally, I’ve only tried the email option as I’m not a fan of talking on the phone and live chat doesn’t work for me since my time on the computer is severely limited lately (hence the lack of blogging).
My only wish for Time Dog (which I told them during our Skype chat) is for an iPhone app because it would be so much easier for me to use their services. (Spoken like a true iPhone addict - hmm…I wonder if they can find someone to make me the iPhone app I want).
I suggest you sign up today with Time Dog and try out their virtual assistance for all of your to-do list chores. You can also find them on Facebook and Twitter.
So, now I ask you…what burning request would you ask Time Dog to do first for you?
Note: I was not compensated for this post but I did receive a lifetime membership to Time Dog’s services. All opinions and service request ideas are my own.

I would probably ask them to find me a decent plumber and tile guy since my upstairs shower pan is leaking and we had a nice shower in the laundry room over the weekend! I’m pretty sure I met Nick briefly at SheCon in May. (I was there with Nicole- By Word of Mouth)…

Oh no. That doesn’t sound good. I hope you find someone soon to fix that.

That sounds like quite the service. Although, I would have to agree with you, that an iPhone app would make me more likely to use them.

Hmm I think I may have met them at Blissdom as well. It sounds like a lovely idea to have a virtual assisstant but in with you on the iPhone app. It would make me more likely to use them.

I’m glad you did this. Though I was at Blissdom, I never figured out what Time Dog was. Now I know. Sounds like a bit of a virtual concierge.

I didn’t understand what they did at first when I met them at Blissdom. I thought it would be the same as Siri but the service is much different.

Thank you Nick! I’m glad to hear the iPhone app is in the works.
It was only a matter of time before there was a virtual concierge service. Sounds great, glad it’s so helpful for you.

I bet one of your requests would be to find a zoo without peacocks running around.
Truth be told, you had me with the Lavender Sunrise Cocktail.
And if that’s wrong, I don’t want to be right.

That is an awesome drink. I spent a lot of money on them at Blissdom so I’m glad I can make them at home now.

Very cool service! I could think of a ton of things for them to do for me (but seriously, they should add watching the kids to their list!).

I met them at Type A! Both guys were so excited about their service and serving the people that use them. I was great to read about your first hand experience with them.

They were just as excited at Blissdom and during our Skype chat. I was impressed.
Truth be told, I wouldn’t want them to watch my kid. I’d want them to go to work FOR me so I could spend some time with my kid.
But really, sounds like a neat idea.
There used to be a bartending school in Reno. I remember seeing the signs for it over by the university. Kind of where Jimmy John’s is.

If they could work for you, that would be awesome.
I’m pretty sure the bartending school closed down. I used to see signs for it when I went to class but now they aren’t there and something else is in that spot.

If it hadn’t been for Blissdom, I probably never would have heard of them either.
Oh, how I could use an assistant. Any the virtual kind. I would ask about puppy resources, dog parks, and someone to come pick up all the dead plums and apricots from my yard.

We used to have an apple tree in our front yard and I always made the kids pick them up. They hated the task and were so happy when we cut down the tree.
