As is our tradition in the summer, we take the boat out once a week after the husband gets off work.
Once on the boat, lifejackets are zipped up and messed with so we can be safe (do I sound like Dora?)
The calendar might say July but the water temp at our nearest lake said 65 so I (smartly) opted out of going in the water. Instead, I drove the boat (with a sweatshirt on) while the husband wakeboarded.
Every time he went down, Layla became very concerned and would ask “Daddy, you fall again?” on constant repeat.
The flag girl also did her duties when daddy fell down.
The big child was bribed with dessert if she jumped in the water. She couldn’t resist the offer so she jumped overboard. Upon returning to the boat she immediately asked for the heater (see the arrow pointing the black hose, that’s the heater. #wuss)
Like a good mom, I forced the small child to take a picture with me. Clearly she didn’t mind.
Another fun time at the lake. As usual.
P.S…you see that cell phone case on my phone in the 3rd picture? To find out where I got that case made from my Instagram pictures (and some other fun things you can do with Instagram), check out my post over at Business 2 Blogger this week, 5 Sites To Use With Instagram.

You could just stick with me on the boat instead of actually going in the water.

Chilly is right.
Clearly, she didn’t mind at all.
I love riding in a boat but don’t need the bad press that comes with my “apres-lake” look.

Looks like fun!
Can’t believe you still need a sweatshirt there!
In the evenings it gets chilly, especially on the lake.
I’m not sure what’s more awesome: The pink life jacket, the iPhone case, the fact that you have both a boat and cooler temps or that you linked up with us.
This post is clearly full of win.

I had to quit reading when you said the weather was ONLY 65 DEGREES. I’m melting here! Being out on the lake sounds wonderful though.

65 was the water temp. The weather at the lake was between 75 and 80.
Love the pic you took of yourself in the mirror. Sounds/looks like a great time was had!

I have nothing but admiration for people who can ride on boats – I get incredibly sea-sick.
I does look like so much fun, though – and I love the “daddy, did you fall again?” !

I prefer the warmth too which is why my ass stayed in the boat.
How fun, I love being out of the water, but I don’t like being cold either.

It sounds like you all had a blast! I would love to have a nearby lake to go to with my family. So far, I haven’t found one yet.
