8 Seconds at the Reno Rodeo

Last year, in our summer of fun, we took the kids to the Reno Rodeo. Naturally, we had to do it again.

So we all booted up and made our way to the Reno Livestock Event Center.

First stop when we got there was the Merry-Go-Round. A certain little person loved the ride.

When it was time for the rodeo to start, we found our seats and patiently waited for the cowboys. Can’t you just feel their excitement?

8 seconds for each ride was just long enough to hold their attention.

Their favorite part? When the baby horses came out…

Since I didn’t get any pictures of me at the actual rodeo, I made the husband pose for a crappy one with me when we got home.

No rodeo is complete without a video of the monkey that rides a dog and herds goats. Watch if you want…

The only thing that would have made this rodeo better is if they were serving up my Coconut Margaritas

Yeehaw!

When we visit family in Idaho every few years we always go to the rodeo and it is so much fun. I love cowboys and all the energy there. It always feels so small town, down home charming to me.

It does feel very small town at the rodeo. Makes me want to move out to the country and get some horses.

See the key is to bribe the children with something in order to catch that “I can’t believe I’m here with my parents but since they offered ice cream I’m going to smile my guts out for the camera” look.

I would not want to go to the rodeo if I was pregnant. Not too easy to sit in the bleachers with a big belly.

How fun! I would totally go to a rodeo. But, I think I’d have to wear my winter boots like L since I don’t own any cute cowgirl ones.

And I would’ve thought you were completely joking about the dog-riding monkey, had I not seen this before in my life as well. It’s the strangest thing to see ever.
