WordPress allows for customization of many fields in the dashboard in addition to changing the screen options.
One such area in WordPress is the Add New Post box (where you type your blog posts). This box has a predefined size to fit up to 20 lines of text.
For some people, this box is too small when they write posts.
To increase the size of the Add New Post box in WordPress go to Setttings -> Writing.
In Writing the first option is “Size of the post box.”
The default is 20 lines but you can change it to any size you would like. I have mine set at 25.
After making the desired change click the Save Changes button at the bottom.
Go back to Add New Post and check out the new size of the writing section.
These directions can be used for WordPress.com and WordPress.org blogs.
Thanks to Nichole at In These Small Moments for the suggestion to write this post.

You are a little genius. I was always grumbling because I had to scroll up and down when I wanted to change the size of a picture for example. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I really should spend some time to look at the menu myself.

It really does. Thanks for the suggestion for the post.
That’s a neat tip. I never write my posts in the box, I always just write in Word and CP over. But that’s definitely going to help during proofing.

I usually write in Word also. It’s easier for me. But it is nicer to have a bigger box in WP when adding pictures.

Can I just say, “I love you”? It’s these small little things you help us with that make me as happy as can be. I’m so WordPress illiterate because I don’t have the time to play around and fiddle with things. I hail to you, WordPress Queen Jessica
Thank you!
