Alison from Mama Wants This asked me to guest post for her with the topic birthday for her since it’s her birthday week.
My first thought was to send her a list of gift ideas for people to buy me for my 30th birthday next year.
For some reason, I changed my mind and decided to go in a different direction.
So, today I’m guest posting over at Mama Wants This about why I’m frightened about turning 30.
(P.S. if you are interested in that list of things to get me for my 30th birthday let me know, I’ll email it to you.)

Just read your post. Loved it. I feel the same way. It just seems like it is going to be so different!
From all the comments on the post today I would say that it sounds like 30 will be better than 20s. I hope that is true.

Oh you are so adorable…you really are.
I kinda remember 30. I had my first baby a few months before that.
So yeah, I certainly felt it!

Thanks Sherri!
I had both my babies in my 20s and I’m not having anymore. Thank goodness.
Yay for birthday celebrations and gifts! Turning a year older? Not so much.

Are you lying about this 30 thing? You have to be!
In 5 months I’ll be 30. No lie.

I was 2 weeks post partum when I turned 30 so it is all a blur. But I’m 35 now, and I have to say…the 30′s pretty much rock. Off to read your post now!

I expect my 30th to be a blur but only because I had a huge party.

I often wish I’d met my husband earlier. A) so we could have been married longer before wanting to have kids and B) just to have known him longer. My 30s were great but so far my 40s are even better. So worry not.

I am grateful that I had kids in my 20s so in my 30s they are older and we can do more things with them.
Didn’t you know the 30 is the new 20′s ? Actually loved when I turned 30, now I’m 30 every year.
Ha! I heard some people say they were 29 every year.
Meant to say the Big 30 …

I wonder what it felt like….approaching 30….that was nearly 4 years ago. I feel so old.
34 is not old. It’s not even really a halfway mark for life.
Oooh! The big 3-0! It’s all downhill from there
. Just joking. I think my 30′s are my best time ever, actually. I’m the most comfortable with myself that I’ve ever been. I’m sure it will be great for you, as well!
Thank you Sarah! I heard that from many people.

Thirty wasn’t scary for me, but a few years later and it started catching up with me. But, I think it’s all perspective. Hope I feel that way come winter and another number ticks by! :> But, in all seriousness, I think you’ll rock thirty!

Thank you! I hope it is all about perspective because after all the comments I read I’m starting to be less afraid.
You have a list?! Why am I not surprised?
