To The Menace Of Northwest Reno

My baby girl is 3.

I’m still not sure how that number is accurate considering how tiny she is.

I guess what she lacks in size she makes up for in attitude (and bad language).

I’ve joked that she is just like her dad, but really this kid is all me (except for the clothes, I’m not quite that fancy).

Might have something to do with the fact that she spends 99.56% of her time with me.

Everyday is an adventure with this kid.

She dislikes reading most of the time but will never hesitate to sing or dance.

When she senses trouble coming she plugs her ears which of course means that we start laughing and the timeout never happens.

One shoe is always better than two.

Lipgloss is her best friend and wild hair defines her style.

To my kid, on her 3rd birthday, I say I love you.

I mustache you to continue to be who you are, so that I may continue to blog about it.

For you, my dear, are part of what makes this blog so awesome.

Bloggers…don’t miss my post this week over at Business 2 Blogger which is tips for bloggers on what to put on their contact page

The Beast Is Partially Tamed

I’ve been very hesitant to cut Layla’s wild hair. I think it was because I thought everyday I would do her hair in a cute style that she would proudly wear everyday. I was seriously wrong. I would either forget to do her hair, she would cry when I put it up, or she would take it… Continue Reading

A Failed Attempt

This post was originally posted as a guest post for a blogger who is no longer sharing her words on the Internet, therefore I am bringing it home because it’s my story.  After I had my second child I was desperate for the green light from my doctor at the 6-week checkup to start working… Continue Reading

Who I Speak For

My very lovely friends Galit and Nicole asked Who Do We Speak For? For me, this is easy. I speak for these two small people. I am their advocate. Their protector. Their hope. I want them to look back at my words here and know that I loved them and that I did the best… Continue Reading

Why Ask Why?

Don’t put that cord around your neck. Don’t go outside without shoes on. Don’t pee in your panties. Don’t hit your sister. All of these statements plus many more I have said in the last week. And all of them were met with the response of “why?” It’s obvious to any adult why I said… Continue Reading

Let There Be Growth

Last year, my garden was planted by my minions as I was busy with homework. This year, I had no acceptable excuse (according to the husband) and therefore was subjected to the spring heat, the worms, and the dirt all in the name of planting the 2012 garden. After learning many gardening lessons and growing… Continue Reading

This Summer Will Be Much Cooler

Summer is my favorite time of the year. When the sun is out and we can spend time outside and on the lake. However, with two kids in tow, it’s hard to be away from the house too long without food and water. Fortunately, my friends at eBags are awesome and make a huge lunchbox… Continue Reading

Getting Smart In His Old Age
